The reader has only to turn on the news to know the economy is uncertain. Those of us who thought our retirement income was secure are now uncertain. Vickers states statistics that will make the reader hesitate before retiring. “73% of retirees say their lifestyle is worse than before they retired.” The key to retirement according to Vickers is planning.
My husband and I are quickly approaching retirement age. We’d planned to retire at 57. Our mutual funds haven’t done well. We thought we had it all planned out. I’m glad we hadn’t retired yet.
